Mt Isa stabbing: Two women allegedly stabbed at Townview home

A woman is fighting for life and a teen has suffered serious injuries following a horrific stabbing at a home in western Queensland.

Emergency services were called to a property on Pelican Road in Townview, in Mt Isa just before 5am following reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, two women - one aged in her 30s and the second in her late teens - were located with multiple injuries and are currently undergoing treatment, a Queensland Police spokesman said.

The woman in her 30s is in a critical condition while the teenager is in a serious condition, Queensland Ambulance Services confirmed.

Multiple ambulance units attend the scene and transported the women to Mount Isa Hospital.

A man is assisting police with inquiries and a crime scene has been declared.
